Fakers’ Guide to Suha Jora – Part 1

Suha Jora (Red Dress, 2007) was one of the biggest hits of the Pakistani Film Industry in the last few years. It starred Nargis and Shaan, and was produced by Nargis’ Husband, apparently.
I was thinking of writing on this film, because its one of the only few recent Lollywood movies which did a huge business. However, in a post-term-paper daze and delirium, I ended up doing this. Hence a big disclaimer: beware of lame jokes and crass juxtaposition.

Maybe you could use your knowledge of the film to spruce up it’s wikipedia entry. Unless of course you wrote it:
“Syed Raza Ali Rizvi student of DPS and part time drug seller. Shaan is uncle who love Nargis. Nargis is also lost mother of Syed. Shafaqat Cheema killed syed’s father. Nargis is a stage dancer Nargis is my favourite actress and i like nargis”
Also any idea why this film made money?
@TambourineMan: I didn’t have that much of a free time! Just a commitment to a cause! Don’t stay in touch with family, and the time saved there, is utilized on Nargis!
@Ammar: I didnt even look the Wikipedia entry up! Haha! Oh man! I think I can do wonders with this wikipedia entry, if and when I get the chance to write something about it. The problem is I can’t get my head around what happened after this. Its so confusing I can’t even screen cap. Something to do with “Syeds” being better than anyone else or something. And most probably, I might have written it, because I dont even remember making half the pictures for this post. As for the money, Im sure we have enough jiyalas to lust after Nargis in Punjab to keep the moolah coming in. I have no clue, though.

@khamba: Well, this being an impoverished film industry, that uses outdated technology. So one shouldnt expect a piece of technical brilliance. Also the budget of one of these movies is less than that of only one song of a Bollywood movie. I think the average budget is around PKR 30-50lakhs, which is INR 20-35 lakhs.
