Kourosh Yaghmaei – Havar Havar

An old persian song by the Iranian singer Kourosh Yaghmaei. It will leave you bemused, because it will be remind you of a trashy 80s hit that is most probably *inspired* by it!

Bombay Vikings – Hawa Main Urta Jaye

All they did was to cover old hindi hits, no? Why mess with the formula! Good ol’ days!

GTown Desi – Peerh

These guys from Glasgow made a very impressive debut with Peerh! Its a funky Punjabi traditional meets urban music (whatever that is)

Nazia Hassan and Black Eyed Peas Mash up – Boom Boom Star (DJ Kayper)

*me ❤ this* A brilliant mash-up of Nazia Hassan’s Boom Boom with BEP’s Boom Boom Pow by the British Asian DJ, DJ Kayper.

Musarrat Nazir – Chale To Katt He Jayega

Musarrat Nazir’s “other” hit of the 1980s is a treat! I don’t how its going to fit with the other songs in the playlist, but I just wanted to put it in!

Stereo Nation (feat. Bohemia and Kostal) – Holi Holi Nach

From Stereo Nation’s latest album, this song is a treat! Not a big fan of Bohemia, but the Kostal boys are here to jazz it up with ma boy Taz!

Independence Day Specials

Mekaal Hasan Band – Waris Shah

The song is based on the poem by Amrita Pritam, in which she talks about the tumultuous events around Partition (of Punjab) during 1947.

Shout-out to Hindustan

Alisha Chinoy – Made in India

Hahahahahaha!

Pakistan Independence Celebration

Entity Paradigm (eP) – Shor Macha

Hot off the press!! The new song by eP is out! Kuch Shor Machaaa!!

Junoon – Jazba-e-Junoon

One of the best patriotic songs in the recent memories for me, from their 1996 Inquilaab!
